CTPark Ostrava became home to ABB service centre
A new hall in the CTPark Ostrava industrial park has gained a significant tenant – ABB s.r.o. On the area of almost 8 thousand square metres the first central service centre for electric motors and robots in Europe was opened. The total investment reached CZK 100 million. Cushman & Wakefield’s Industrial Team facilitated the transaction, working in close cooperation with the ABB team.
Hannu Kasi, CEO of ABB s.r.o., said: “The service centre in Ostrava is the only one of this type in Europe and its importance extends to other continents as well. It creates the standards and tools which are then used at ABB’s other certified plants worldwide.”
The new hall was tailor-made for ABB. CTP Invest owns the park. C&W represented the occupier during the negotiations.
“The demand for space in Ostrava has been stable, albeit quite low, in recent years. Almost all of the remaining vacant space was leased towards the end of last year. This encouraged the park owner to build speculatively additional space in the course of the development of the hall intended for ABB without any pre-lease in place,” said Jaroslav Kaizr, head of the Industrial Letting Team at Cushman & Wakefield.
“Nevertheless, vacant space for immediate take-up is very limited in the Ostrava area. Prospective tenants should bear in mind that halls will be mostly built as tailor-made. Hence, we recommend commencing the process of searching for new premises sufficiently in advance,” Kaizr added.
CTPark Ostrava has a total area of 127,000 sq m, of which less than 8,000 sq m is currently vacant. Other tenants in the park include ITT, Grupo Antolin and HP Pelzer.
