Česká Pošta has opened central depot
Aiming to improve its competitiveness, Česká pošta has opened a new central depot in Říčany. The company has leased almost 1,700 square metres of space in the Green Square Říčany industrial park. The depot is used for the distribution of mail and it is Česká pošta’s first hub of this kind in the Czech Republic. The company is trying to streamline its processes to perform better among its delivery service competitors. Cushman & Wakefield facilitated the lease of the premises.
“Česká pošta required premises in Říčany where its previous storage facility had been located. The former premises were not suitable for the required expansion, however. The space at Green Square Říčany was tailored to the requirements, primarily in terms of a higher number of delivery bays. Česká Pošta has leased the unit for ten years, thus obtaining very favourable terms,” says Jaroslav Kaizr from C&W’s industrial team who worked on the transaction.
The total industrial space exceeds 1,200 sq m, with office space and sanitary facilities accounting for another more than 400 metres. The unit also houses a delivery hall, a sorting line, and cloakrooms for postal workers etc.
Focusing primarily on the development of industrial, commercial, and office property, Contera is the developer for Green Square Říčany. Green Square Říčany is a modern business park situated on the edge of Prague, in close proximity to the D1 motorway. The current area of the park includes 22,000 sq m of production, storage, and office space intended primarily for businesses in the SME segment. Green Square Říčany will include further development of more than 40,000 sq m of industrial space and 5,000 sq m of retail space.
