On March 11 at 2:46pm JST a massive 9.0-magnitude earthquake occurred near the north-eastern coast of Japan, creating extremely destructive tsunami waves which hit Japan just minutes after the earthquake, and triggering evacuations and warnings across the Pacific Ocean. The earthquake and tsunami have caused extensive and severe damage in North-eastern Japan, leaving thousands of people confirmed dead, injured or missing, and millions more affected by lack of electricity, water and transportation.
Employees of Cushman & Wakefield and our clients have contributed 21,000 CZK for the benefit of the hardly stricken Japan. The money has been sent to Japanese Red Cross and all funds will be distributed directly among those affected location by the earthquake and tsunami.
Ms. Mayumi Yokozeki from Cushman & Wakefield is handing over a cheque to Japanese Embassy on Wednesday 11th May 2011.
